A little bit about the Village of Beverly Hills

The Village of Beverly Hills is a 4.25 square mile bedroom community home to over 10,000 residents. Established in 1958, it has grown to include over 100 businesses, several parks and nature areas, and numerous schools and churches. It has the largest population of any home-rule village in Michigan.

Beverly Hills offers its residents an excellent quality of life through varied housing options, nationally recognized public and private schools, community recreational opportunities and municipal services second to none.

Beverly Park is a 34-acre park located at 18801 Beverly Road. A variety of outdoor recreation opportunities are available including a sled hill and ice skating rink, sand volleyball and basketball courts, two baseball fields and two tennis courts, a large playground, disc golf course, and a wooded natural area with trails for biking/hiking. 

Many community events take place at Beverly Park. Halloween Hoot, Concerts in the Park, and of course the renowned Memorial Day Parade and Carnival are just a few. 

The park has a pavilion available for rent for groups up to 150 people. It's the perfect spot for school functions, baby showers, birthday parties and reunions.

Riverside Park is a half-acre park located at Riverside Drive east of Evergreen Road. The park has a picnic table and grill available and provides access to the mill pond which is part of the Rouge River. Visitors can fish, enjoy nature, and utilize the picnic area.

Nature Preserves

Beverly Hills is home to two beautiful nature preserves. These pieces of natural area in the urban community provide valuable green space in an otherwise developed area.

Douglas Evans Nature Preserve is located on Evergreen Road north of 13 Mile. The 18-acre area is restricted by deed to remain in its natural state. Public access is limited, however, visitors are permitted to use the area for walking and nature study. The site has been studied by numerous ecologists who note the value of the native plant species in the preserve.

Hidden Rivers Nature Preserve is located on the south side of 14 Mile Road east of Evergreen. The 15-acre area is restricted by deed to remain a natural area. The land peninsula is surrounded by branches of the Rouge River with the northern edge abutting a private golf course. The preserve serves as a valuable plant and wildlife habitat virtually undisturbed by humans.

Additionally, Beverly Hills offers plenty of shopping from grocery stores and restaurants to plazas filled with stores everyone frequents all within a few miles. It's also close to Southfield, Birmingham and Troy where even more shopping can be found.
